Excerpt
Brian worriedly marched to Wendy’s room and saw her sitting on the side of the bed with a mildly irritated look on her face.
“Hey, honey. What’s wrong?” Brian asked as he sat down beside her. “I thought you were feeling better.”
“I thought I was too. I’m still tired, but not as bad as I’ve been feeling. My back hurts, though.”
“It does? Is it the bumps?”
“I think so. Only my upper back hurts.”
“Let me take a look,” he said as she moved over a little and he raised her shirt so he could see the bumps. “Well, they look the same as yesterday. I was hoping that lotion that we picked up at the pharmacy would help, but maybe it’s too much to expect something to happen practically overnight. How does this feel?” he said as he gently massaged one of the bumps.
“Ow. It feels worse than it did yesterday.”
“Well, the skin feels a little bit tenderer than it did yesterday, so maybe it’s helping a bit. At least it’s not as rough as it was and I would think that would be a good thing. Do you feel like going to school or staying home?”
“Well, I was hoping to get back today before the weekend, but I don’t know. If I’m going to feel like this all day, I don’t want to do it sitting behind a desk.”
“Can’t say I blame you,” he grinned. “Tell you what, stay home today, enjoy the weekend, get well, and, on Monday, you can go back to school. Sound good?”
“I guess so,” she said with the same look on her face. It may have been just his overly-protective fatherly intuition, but he suspected she was more upset about not seeing her boyfriend than missing school. And if that was the case, he was even more in favor of her staying home.

Fast and Easy Read
I really enjoyed reading "Earth Angel" by Jeff Fuell. The story is about Brian, Mindy, and Wendy Bradford. Wendy is killed in a car accident and Brian is injured. Wendy is only 8 years when he mother died. Now Wendy is 13 years old and strange things start to happen to her. Brian sees the Devil and God in different people throughout the story. Wendy is kidnapped by a guy who was pretending to a substitute teacher. Brian has found a way to contact Wendy in order for him to rescue her. Will he find Wendy in time? What will Brian do when he comforts the guy who kidnapped his daughter? How did Brian feel when he was visited by the Devil and God?
Overall, the story is well written, detailed, and an easy read.
