I have always liked reading and writing poetry so I started The Poet's Place to put together a collection of new poetry that people would enjoy reading. I have tried to include works written in many different styles and on an array of topics. I hope that this collection will have something for everyone.

All American Son
He had blond hair and blue eyes
Pure blooded Anglo-Saxon
The all American son
Now father don’t you worry
Don’t you even cry
I was born into privilege
Had everything I could ever want
So now it is time to give something back
And all I have is my blood
So father don’t cry when I tell you
It’s my destiny and privilege
To give my life-to die
I do it for you
For my brothers, sisters and friends
You may say that this is foolish
But I thought it through
I know what I am doing
We are all going to die…some time
So why do it in vain
When the greatest gift I could give
Is to give myself
Just a small contribution
For my God and the land that I call home
So that freedom may be protected
And always reign on
So father pray instead of cry
I go off to my destiny
I go off to die
