“Mom, I’m leaving for the cemetery.”

Garland, my beloved, finally I am here! It seems an eternity has passed since the evening of our last meeting. I have shed a million tears over what took place on that cool September evening, but, unfortunately, tears cannot change the course of destiny.
I want you to know, I will always cherish the memories of our time together, and I will always love you. You will remain within me for the rest of my life, and I will carry you right here in my heart, until my last breath is drawn.
Within the deepest part of my soul, I am constantly aware of your presence. I hear the gentle soothing sound of your voice; feel the warm glow of your love and the tenderness of your touch.
Soon, Garland, all of our family and friends will join us to celebrate this day, December 31, 1999. It is our intention to end the twentieth century and begin the twenty-first right here with you, our beloved husband, father, brother, and friend.

Fictional, but inspired by a true event, it's a tale well told by Honeycutt. From the very first page you will be hooked.
