I suppose, in its entirety, the ‘Millennium Trilogy’ is an attempt to sketch blue-prints for the new paradigm, and paradigms, required by the 21st century. Daily the evidence becomes less controvertible that, without such paradigms, our todays will become ever more uncomfortable and our tomorrows ever more threatened. It is a work of incredible optimism, which proclaims loudly the beauty of Man and Nature, of civilisation and civilised values, and which hosannahs the need to cherish those values and ensure their continuance into the future.

It is a book for forward-looking people who think the past is something we should learn from, not something which we should be doomed to revisit.

The sun shone. It gave sparkle to the dimples of the sea. The boat was but a white speck in a world of blues. He knew the boat was his.
He knew it was time for him to go. Again. He saw again the citizens leave their work that they may bid him their adieux and that they may hear him once again before he went.
His heart was heavy at his departure. It was always heavy when departing.
He smiled ruefully to himself. Before he was a prophet he was a man. It behove him to remember that.
Soon a crowd had gathered.
He knew, if he were to speak to them as a crowd, he would not be speaking to them.
He looked on the crowd’s faces. He saw that some loved him and that love cheered him. He saw too that a few hated him. For them his heart ached.
Hatred’s first target is always its harbinger. It is only those who hate themselves who cannot weep for those who hate themselves. Their cruelty starts with cruelty to themselves.
