Ever take an adventure that is totally different from your norm? Necessity brought on this wild adventure for these wonderful characters. Mags is not a sideline person. She is the one you know who always steps up and does what needs to be done for her friends and family. These characters became so real to me that I want to go have coffee with them and try out those wonderful desserts. I definately recommend this book. It is both suspenseful and heartwarming. I got a kick out of Mags and the AARP Gang. It's laugh-out-loud funny. Things get out of control fast in this book, and it takes Mags, a quick-thinking octogenarian, to figure out a way to put it right. With the mobile home park where she lives up on the foreclosure block due to politics and greed, Mags' best friend, Harvey, comes up with a scheme to rob the bank holding the mortgage. When Harvey dies, Mags hopes the scheme has died along with him. But one thing leads to the next, and then the next, and before Mags knows it, she's in the bank, watching things go not exactly as planned. And as the plan deteriorates even further, Mags rediscovers what she already knew: that friendship is worth more than all the money in the bank.

I love Nancy Lynn Jarvis' writing style. It's direct and funny, creating Mags as unapologetic, loyal, and funny; a woman with a strong sense of herself. This book will appeal to all kinds of readers: if you like books with great characters, this is it. If you like thrillers, you'll appreciate the suspense as Mags has to figure her way out of a serious jam, while keeping her sense of integrity intact. If you like books with original story lines, this one is for you. This is a wonderful, sweet story that will remind you of the things that are most important in life.

Funny, sly, and sweet
This charming and well-written book is full of surprises and laughs. It's a great read, with real characters in situations you would never have thought of. I would hope to be as intelligent, quick-minded and full of heart when I reach Mags' age - don't miss this one!
