After self-publishing my first book - My Renal Life (i know it, i live it)and sharing mainly my 10 year run with Hemodialysis, many of my readers were interested in hearing about my 10 year run with peritoneal dialysis (in which i only touched the surface in my first book), and i felt compelled to share in more deeper details my copings with peritoneal dialysis. They will not only learn more about my PD life, but they will also journey with me from my pre-dialysis days to my current PD days, as well as my first transplant experience. I had been researching PKD, and after what i learned about PKD, i felt compelled to research my family history of PKD, when and why was this disease introduced into our family history, and how it could have occured. And as an added bonus, an array of renal friendly recipes, awaits my readers.
My Twenty Year Journey with PKD in the Dialysis World
Self-published - October, 2011 - Journey with me, from my pre-dialysis days to my current Peritoneal Dialysis days. Also, if you haven't and are strongly thinking about undergoing a kidney transplant, and of course, are on the cadaver waiting list, then you will want to read the section of my book - My First Transplant Experience - it will give you a better idea of the scenarios surrounded receiving the blessing of a cadaver kidney, and of course, i do share all of what i endured during my short run with the blessing of a cadaver kidney, although this happened to me, it doesn't necessary will happen to you, but it is a good idea, to get a better understanding of what could happen with a kidney transplant. If you have developed End Stage Renal Disease, from the nature of the inheritance of Polycystic Kidney Disease, like i do, then you will truly find my book very interesting, because i will share what i have learned about PKD, as well as what exactly is PKD, (because i do know, that there are people like me, who may have the disease, and may not know very much about the disease, and for that matter, i have come across individuals with the disease, that truly don't know whom they inherited the disease from. I also share the statistics, and the warning signs and symptoms of the possibility of PKD, (and this is included in my excerpt from the book - online at www.xlibris.com - check it out at your leisure). Also, as usual, i share a great deal of my renal friendly recipes, that i have been collecting since 1990, and of course, most recipes, will have the nutritional facts, to help you attempt to plan a renal friendly menu. What can i say, there is so much info packed in my 2nd book, that it is way too much to go into in this description. My 2nd book is also available as a hardback as well as e-book. So, all PKD patients, as well as non-diabetic dialysis patients, and of course pre-dialysis pts, although i am a non-diabetic/dialysis pt, i don't really focus on the diabetic aspect of the renal diet, however, there are many recipes that can accomodate a diabetic renal diet as well.

10 year run with Hemo, due to complications with AV Graft with numerous grafts and repairs, the 4th graft fails and had to transition to PD for continued surival with dialysis.
