Aberrant Creation
A journey through space, a dimensional slip, and a dark uncharted region in the galaxy, all add up for big trouble.
Centuries into the future at the Space Agency HQ near too the centre of the galaxy, Intergalactic craft 1B sets out to look for reported missing ships. Space Agent Jim Long finds himself in an uncharted section of the universe; forced into immediate action to save the craft and crew.
The spacecraft enters an unknown area that throws everything into a state of chaos. Stranded, and shifting into other dimensions, communication to the outside mysteriously cut, causes confusion and fear. Mysterious deadly foes appear in different time-shifts ready to cause mayhem and death.
Finally, the crew challenged on everything abhorrent to humanity, sexism, racism, and extreme religion, under the control of dark, malevolent spiritual beings called the Nomed.
Will Jim and crew ever escape from this fiendish driven environment? Because of his usual drollness, wit and fortitude, the Nomed use Jim for their amusement until the situations become critical in a nerve-ending climax.

She slowed the car down and came to a halt. A man and a woman in uniform approached from left and right. She opened a window on either side as they stared inside at the occupants. Jim gave a little wave with his hand. The man smiled, and the woman scowled.
“I speak to the two women aboard,” she said coldly. “When you enter, you will not be allowed to have a mixed-gender car.” The man then spoke. “I speak to the men aboard. You are not allowed to have a mixed-gender car if you enter.”
Jim laughed as he spoke to the man. “We’re just travelling companions.”
“Are any of you married?” asked the man.
“No, just friends,” replied Jim.
“Good,” said the man. “I should warn that entering through the barrier if married means an immediate prison sentence for both parties. Two offences mean execution.”
Gail was stunned. Jim chuckled, shaking his head. “Welcome to the second land of the crazy.”
“I assure you it’s a grave offence,” said the woman. I advise you to turn around.”
“If only we could,” murmured Gail. “What happens if we drive through?”
“An immediate fine will be issued,” said the woman rather curtly. “Mixed-gender is not allowed.”
“What, no prison sentence?” asked Gail with a touch of her brand of sarcasm.
The woman put on a deep frown. “Only after the third offence.”
Jim tried to control his mirth. “So we men will have to leave the car and rent another one?
The man spoke. “There is a hire car venue just down the road, but you can only drive within the city limits.”
“Are we banned from speaking to the opposite sex?” said Marcia.
“Not at all,” said the woman. “Conversing on the street or outside is allowed.”
“Thank goodness for small mercies,” replied Gail.
“A time limit of one hour is allowed,” replied the woman.
Gail turned to Marcia with a wink. “Wow, aren’t we the lucky ones? Out you get fellas’, see you at the hire place.”
As the men got out onto the road, Jim spoke. “Beware, you’re enjoying this far too much, Frosty.”
“Well Marcia and I have now acquired instant equality,” quipped Gail as Marcia shook her head and grinned.
“With a price,” said Dukop with a nod of the head to Jim.
The barrier suddenly lifted, and Marcia sped through with a wave from Gail.
At the place of hire, the transaction for a car quickly completed from the male gender side. The salesman warned that the engine would cut out beyond the city limits.
As they stood talking before getting into the cars, Jim became solemn. “It seems the earmark of these cities is an absurdity. The laws are outlandish and trivial. I don’t know what other crazy laws exist here, but we must find a way back to Zecto City.”
