Evangelical Christians believe that the last book of the Bible is a revelation from Jesus Christ to the Apostle John given more than 2,000 years ago while John was an exile of the Roman Empire on the island of Patmos in the Aegean Sea. The Revelation, given to John "on the Lord's Day" contains prophecies that take the reader from John's day to a future that is at least still more than 1,000 years ahead of where we are today.

This book explores the prophecies, not from a current events standpoint, but rather from the view point of John. The book is principally about Jesus Christ and His relationship to the history of the Christian Church, the end of the church age, the great seven years of tribulation, the thousand year kingdom of Christ on earth, judgments and eternity which includes a new heaven and a new earth. The title of the book references John's final prayer in the Revelation, "Even so, come, Lord Jesus."
