Barack Obama, more that just a president is dedicated to all inquisitive individuals whose desire is to make extraordinary sense and meaning out of the Obama phenomenon.
In my several years of research, I am always amazed at the too little insight humanity derives from phenomenal changes which ought to have delivered to mankind more than what was received. In fact, man learns very little from the happenings around him today than in history. The wise men of yesterday were simple ordinary men who saw extraordinary things from the happenings around them.
Imagine the extraordinary revelations Joseph derived from pharaoh’s dream, Daniel from Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of a golden image as the scriptures depict.
The three wise men in the days when Christ was born saw beyond a star to the birth of a king.
Just pause for a moment and think of the wisest man who ever lived, how he drew his inspiration from observing trees, beasts, and many other natural phenomena. What of Michelangelo who saw a beautiful piece of art work which got into history from an ordinary rock. And Isaac Newton who saw beyond an apple fruit falling downward to the law of gravity, etc.
There is no greater danger like walking the earth with a close mind, reading and drawing very little influences from life’s occurrences. Knowledge, wisdom and understanding not yet attained live here with us as natural and social occurrences or phenomena which have to be interpreted.
My aim of writing this treatise is to interpret the Obama phenomenon, which to millions is just one of those events in time. I think leaving humanity in abject blindness to what the Obama phenomenon is all about, is more of a denial of great consequences which will leave humanity with untold effects in the now and the morrow. What one sees from life’s several occurrences determines how wise one will inevitably become.

Some years back, who would have thought of such a phenomenon, an African American growing up to become an American president in a country where few years back, blacks were marginalized and segregated from the whites? A country where many black civil rights activists and leaders were murdered in cold blood just because they voiced out their grievances against the injustice, social prejudice and segregation taking place on a day to day basis in the USA.
Finally, on the 4th of November 2008, history was made with Barack Obama declared President Elect of the USA, and on January 20 2009 he was sworn in as the first African-American president in the USA. This singular event shook the entire world and became a major topic on many national and international media, newspapers and magazines, etc. and a topic of discussion to millions around the world.
Right now, Barack Obama is about his duties as president of the USA. The dust of euphoria which surrounded the event of his election victory and his swearing into office as first African American president in history is gradually settling down. My quest in this treatise is as follows:
i) Is it all over with Obama finally becoming the first African American president in history? Or this is just the beginning for mankind to grasps insight higher than what we have ever attained from this singular event? Are they no other deeper revelations we can derive from this singular eventful event? Have we run out of visionaries, luminaries, wise men, etc. who can tell us about this 21st century phenomenon?
It is on this wise that, I have devoted myself to seek for insight, clearer and deeper understanding to this untapped treasure, and unexploited mine; “the Obama phenomenon”.
