A young child reached into the kitchen drawer and took out a long knife, and when his mother heard him in the kitchen, she came in to find the child had a knife pointed at his chest. She screamed, "What are you doing!?" and the child dropped the knife and started crying. The boy had asked how he could go to heaven where his grandpa died, and his mother had told him earlier that "You just need to let Jesus into your heart" so that's what the knife was all about. The point is, children learn things in different ways that we do. They need concrete, observable things to learn, such as you find in the Bible.
