Book Review for Shadow of Illusions by Barbie Sallee



Shadow of Illusions is the poetic journey of author Barbie Sallee. Her emotions are vividly told in nicely written lines full of imagery. In the beginning of her book, the reader is instructed to hold on for a great ride through the wonderment of poetic emotions. On this ride, the reader is sure to experience both the darkness and the light seen and felt throughout life. In her words, one can easily recognize how the author holds on to life herself, how she views it, and how she lives it. It is quite an experience to walk through her sorrow, yet to also experience the things and the people in her life that bring her peace and joy. I found great joy in reading the two following poems: "Welcome He Said," and "Catharsis." It is obvious that Barbie Sallee is proud to be a poet, and in having the true heart of a poet, she has captured the peace found within.

The Review: Shadows of Illusion by Barbie Sallee is a book of contemporary poetry that takes the reader on an incredible journey through the joys of Heaven to the pain of Hell, and everything in between. It is a mix of intense, vivavcious, wondrous, horrifying, powerful, sincere, and beautiful poetry. It is a very powerful work of glorious emotions. This is a well written book, and an injoyable read which fills the reader's heart with tremendous joy,sorrow,anxiety,pain, and lovely wonderment This author highly reccomends it to every lover of literature. 5 STARS!!!!!!

Barbie Sallee's Shadow of Illusions is a great collection of poetry from the heart. Her poems will take you on the emotional highs and lows of life, that are truly relatable to the reader. Her words are moving and will show you happiness, love, anger, pain, loss, confusion and faith! With the support and love of her parents, she has learned to be the amazing person she has become. My personal favorites are, "Welcome He Said," "Ryan's Eyes" and "My Mom And Dad" 5 starts *****
