MARTIAN SHORT STORIES II, is a new collection of short stories that have come entirely from the imagination and are solely FICTIONAL Any resemblance to locations in the book are used fictionally and are a product of my imagination. Any incidents that occur in the book are totally unreal and are fictionally portrayed. All persons depicted in the book are entirely fictional, and any similarity to real people, even accidentally, is totally coincidental or fabricated, so that any seemingly familiar personality would be a complete exaggeration of any real identity. As a watercolor artist, I have painted pictures of trees that look nothing like the trees I have photographed or remembered. Similarly, as a result of my writer creativity, the places named in the book were used out of passing familiarity and have only been applied as a canvas in which to paint a made up colorful picture upon. A brief synopsis of the book is given below.
Martians, real or imaginary, invite our minds to imagine something that is entirely different from someone from the Earth. In order to keep them in a believable frame of reference, I have made them a little like us in the ability to communicate, not completely alien so as to be insects, which they probably well could be. Just to be able to have a dialogue would be advantageous and the ability to communicate verbally or mentally or both, or even extrasensory. Finding spaceships is exciting, but to find the Martian mind is a little more provocative and challenging, so I’ve tried to imagine a little more advanced mind, which just as well could be an Earth mind. Martians could have developed here on Earth as well as on or inside their home planet, or don’t you think so? Maybe there are no Martians or maybe they have been here all along and we just never knew it. Let us question the facts, and reality will find us out if we are wrong, but possibilities exist and why not encourage our minds to reach for the stars if only for to see what is there, be it imaginary or real.
