It is a must read! The author tells a story that many teens can relate to because of the popular and growning trend with piercing and tattoos. Also, one main focus of the book is its educational value which contains information about automobile accidents, suicide, teen prenancy, high school drop outs, the overall value of education itself, origination of AIDS and more. Plus, it is a quick and easy to read, with large font. This book may be utilized as a quick reference resource by other teens that may be in need of some encouragement and guidance to find their way out of similar circumstances that the author experienced.
JerrKelia Lashuan Bazile, aka KeeKee, was born in Dallas, TX on March 10, 1993. At the young age of sixteen years old she felt compelled to write after she had gone away from her parental teachings. She is the youngest of 3, with an older brother and sister, respectively. She resides in Rowlett, TX and attends Sachse High School where she is an honor student and a cheerleader on the Varsity Squad. JerrKelia is a member of ZION Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Dayvid L. Griggs, Jr. She actively participates in the Youth Ministry where she serves as a leader in many of the organizations. She is embarking upon her college life at the young age of 16. She is so driven and determined to help others that she has decided to go into the medical field.

It is rare to find a teenager that has aspirations to author a book. Yet, Jerrkelia published her first book at the youthful age of 16. The nonfiction book is, educational quick-read and its titled "The Piercing That Changed My Life." This experience began in Dallas, Texas and ended in Washington, DC in the summer of July, 2009. After making a bad decision the author demonstrated how to correct the mistakes. She successfully over came the fear of being rejected by her loving parents, mounting peer pressure, and her own deceit to ultimately doing the right thing, by facing up to her own weakness and imperfection. Jerrkelia knows and now teaches others that you must think right to act right or you will produce negative consequences for yourself and the ones who love you the most.

"The Piercing That Changed My Life," is a very excellent short story that can be used as a learning tool for a lot of young teenagers. In this book JerrKelia explains the process of what she went through from making a small decision that could've been avoided if she had just talked about it to her parents. I would recommend this book to everybody who is getting into the stage of life where they feel that the opinion of an adult is not needed. This book opened my mind up to things and taught me certain things that I should've, but didn't know, having a piercing myself. Open the book yourself; you might learn something
