I'm a 19-year-old NYU student. I leave behind my only two friends in New York City to study abroad in Abu Dhabi for a year. Zahrah, who loves me to pieces and Gavin, my oldest friend. Him, I’m in love with, to pieces. Only, I'm not about to admit that to him or anyone else. I get back home, and all hell breaks loose.

Nadir, my friend from college, asks me to protect a mysterious vial. Then he goes missing. If that isn’t bad enough, a family secret slips out. It’s enough to make me take off. I run away to London in search of my friend. There, I use my smarts to find clues to his whereabouts. I have time for a little romance and even escape some danger. I arrive back home to find Zahrah facing a grave situation. Great! One friend is still missing, and another needs a miracle. What’s a girl to do? Save the day, that’s what! Only problem with that, I’m nobody’s hero.

I end up taking another trip, hoping to find Nadir, alive. I desperately need his help to save Zahrah. Time is not on her side. And there’s still the matter of the vial that needs to be dealt with. During my trip, I learn that I have a special gift. Who knew? I use it to get in touch with people in high places. However, you know what they say, be careful what you wish for.
