Christy and Eric Hastings are happy when Angela Wilkerson signs a contract to be their surrogate mother. Angela finds she is having twin boys, but the doctor also tells her she has ovarian cancer. When the twins are born, the doctor removes her ovaries, and Angela decides not to give the twins to Eric and Christy. Angela's husband wants her to give the babies to the Hastings because she is so enamored with them, she spends less and less time with him and her three daughters. Angela loves the boys. Since she can no longer have children, she can't bear to give them up. Angela's husband leaves her. Her three girls become upset and start mis-behaving. Angela is torn between her husband, girls and the two babies. A court battle ensues for custody of the babies. The miracle of forgiveness helps the Hastings and Angela come to an agreeable solution.

Christy and Eric followed the nurse into Angela's room. Mike sat on one side of the bed rubbing his wife's arm. Angela's eyes were red and swollen, and wrinkles creased Mike's forehead.
"What's wrong?" Christy asked.
Angela dabbed her eyes with a tissue, and Mike looked at Christy and Eric. "Please sit," he said pointing to the chairs opposite him. "We have to talk to you."
"What' going on?" Eric asked.
"Well, Angela.. ." He paused and looked at his wife.
"What?" Christy asked. "Angela, what?"
Angela wiped her eyes again and Mike continued. "I didn't know. Angela has ovarian cancer. When they did the c-section, the doctors removed both of her ovaries. The doctor says the twins are fine, but she can't have any more babies."
Christy's eyes widened. "Angela, why didn't you tell us?"
"I didn't want to worry you." She looked at her husband. "Mike didn't know either. I didn't want him to know. No one knew but the doctor and he said. . ." She started crying harder
"I wish she would have told me. I don't know why she didn't," Mike said
"Angela, I'm so sorry. Did they get all the cancer?"
"The doctor said it had not spread, so there shouldn't be any problems, but they are going to do some other tests later," Mike said.
"I don't know what to say. Angela, I'm so sorry," Eric said.
A distant voice on an intercom paged a doctor. Scurrying footsteps echoed in the hall. Mike cleared his throat.
"Um, There's something else. Angela wanted me to tell you that - that she's changed her mind. She wants to keep the babies. We'll pay back all the money, somehow. She wants her twins."
"No! No! You can't do that. We have a contract. You can't do that! Those are my babies," Eric yelled
Eric's face grimaced. He clutched his chest and cried, "Oh," then fell to the floor.
