Manjusri, the Founder deity of Nepal is a pre-brahminic Nepalese god, with one exception; in the Isle of Bali Manjusri is worshipped as the single embodiment of Hindu trinity gods, i.e., Brahma, Bisnu and Mahes. Also worshipped in the Isle of Bali are the Nepalese Buddhist gods, Pancha Dhyani Buddhas, the Five Buddhas of Eternal Meditation yet Manjusri and the Dhyani Buddhas are unknown in the brahminic India.
Brahmins are not aware that the Enlightened One came to Kathmandu on a pilgrimage to Swayambhunath Temple to offer worship to Adi Buddha when Jite Dasty was the reigning monarch of Kiratdom. It is a historical event and found recorded in Swayambhu Puran,
Ashok the Great, following his Master’s footsteps had arrived in Kathmandu three centuries later. Through the inscription on the Lumbini Stone Pillar it is possible to pinpoint precisely that Ashok had arrived in Kathmandu in 243 B.C. during the reign of Kirati King Sthunko.
Pre-brahminic Nepal therefore, introduces for the first time, the history of Nepal seen through the eyes of an indigenous Kirati Mongolians free from brahminic interjection and that is why you want to read it.
