A group of scientists with ulterior motives experiments on dogs in a secret facility, but one day the dogs outsmart them, and seven of them escape. The dogs only have numbers for names and are brought to an animal rescue center. They meet Gilda, a dog-loving woman who develops a passion to protect this pack of dogs. She builds a bond with them, and in return, they open up to her. Over time, more people willing to rescue the other remaining dogs join their team. They conduct meetings, strategize, and work together to achieve their goal. Open Covert Canines by Jacqueline Pansy to find out if this posse of heroes will defeat their enemy and reunite the dogs.

Covert Canines has all the makings of a children's movie: comedy, adventure, and an engaging plot. Jacqueline Pansy showcases her creative and writing prowess in this unique tale. She provides an informative narrative that educates us about animal abuse. Pansy has humanized the dogs by giving them individual personalities and even has a chapter dedicated to this. Gilda giving the dogs names is a heartwarming scene that brought a tear to my eye. Her compassion and fearless personality are inspiring. Each person who stepped up to help in the mission displayed braveness. This sends a wonderful message to all the children who will engage with it. I also appreciated its consistent format; each chapter begins with a catchy title and an illustration. I loved all the beautiful pictures as they bring a visual element to the tale. Great story.

Covert Canines is a children's sci-fi adventure novel by Jacqueline Pansy. In a top-secret laboratory, Dr. Nefarious and his team of scientists have created genetically enhanced dogs with surgically modified body parts, which inadvertently have granted them unpredictable superpowers. Unbeknownst to them, however, the dogs also possess the ability to hear people's thoughts, and after realizing their impending doom, seven dogs flee for their lives through the sewage tunnels. Led by a blue chow dog named Maestro, they arrive at the Animal Rescue Center where they discover that not every human is evil. An employee named Gilda learns their story and, after naming every single one of them, takes it upon herself to save the dogs from Dr. Nefarious's underlings. Soon, Gilda, her friends, and the dogs unwittingly find themselves fighting people involved in selling futuristic technology to American enemies.
Covert Canines is a book that will be appreciated by anyone who has ever owned pets or loves animals in general. Jacqueline Pansy's fast-paced novel has a charming quality to it that makes for a joyful reading experience. The book is full of action, adventure, and fun-filled humor that, in the end, leaves you with a smile on your face. The characters are colorful, with vibrant traits to their personalities that pop off the pages. I loved the distinct personalities of each of the dogs, and thoroughly enjoyed their relationships with Gilda and her friends. All in all, this is an entertaining read for anyone looking for a good book. This story is for children and adults alike.

Covert Canines by Jacqueline Pansy has all the ingredients of a great book involving a group of seven dogs that escape from the laboratory where they were subjected to experiments that give them superpowers. An organization wants to terminate them after they conclude the tests, and sell the information to any nation that requests it. Many kind people help the dogs after their escape. Number One, later called Maestro, and the other six dogs in this story will discover that not all humans have bad intentions and that with their superpowers, they can help other animals less fortunate than them. But will they succeed in the end?
Covert Canines is an exciting children's adventure that struck me because the protagonists are seven dogs that are subjected to experiments. I love animals and am against animal testing, so seven experimental lab animals on the run was the perfect way to capture my attention. I am sure this book can raise awareness of this topic besides telling an adventurous and exciting story. The plot is ingenious and never dull. Jacqueline Pansy has been able to tell the dogs' story very well with many incredible plot twists. I loved the female characters who helped our heroes, with Georgia being my favorite because of her enthusiasm. I highly recommend this book to those who love animal adventure stories.
