A Cowboy Don't Ya See

As I stand upon Open Range,
Filled with Indian Paint Brush,
I take in my beautiful cowboy land,
With a horizon magnificent,grand,
Recalls years of memories,
For this cowboy, nothin was to change,
Despite the travails I would see.
Now folks, I've rode many a trail,
On horseback, crossed many a stream,
And along the way somewhere in between,
Pushed herds of horses and broomtails,
Across desert heat neath a blazin sun,
Not a shade tree to be seen,
Or layin tracks followin timberline,
While pickin up strays along the way,
Ridin frozen, runnin out trail,time.
Now here I stand,
With cowboy memories close at hand,
And as I watch the sun go down,
With my horse Shadow next to me,
I start to mount and ride off,
While hearing a question.
A question asked oft,
What's so special,
Special about Cowboy'n that I found,
I softly reply, Because it's me,
For I'm a cowboy, Don't Ya see.
