Painter, the artist, becomes sleuth and unravels the murder mystery. Rene Montage, the model and film actress, becomes suspect along with a host of unsavory characters. There is Shooter the underworld hit man. What is his relationship to Rene? There is Piranha the gallery director who gives Painter his first one man show in her East Village gallery. What is her relationship to Shooter? There is Arthur Mongolian, the wealthy financier: who fills Painter in on Rene's sordid past. There is Miami who provides information for a price, even to an old friend like Painter. My screenplay, Light du Jour ( light of the day ), is a post modern who-done-it, examining jealousy leading to murder, begetting revenge. . The alienated players are selfish, self-destructive; shades of gray living in an unethical dark new world. The amoral style of the day is new wave punk, purple hair, swastika grafitti on black leather. Painter alone among the cast is capable of the intellect, reasoning, deduction, and action necessary to solve the murder and exact revenge.
