Leslie and Alexi are sent by their accounting  company to inspect the books of a firm in Japan. Sent there to live for two months was daunting enough but Alexi finds love instantly with a coworker, Yohsi. He is related to the firm's owner. Leslie finds hate, lust, and tension with the owner's son, Seiyan. He taunts, kisses, teases, and snubs her during her entire visit. Unable to figure him out she spends her time there sexually frustrated and angry. Once the sudits are finished Alexi, pregnant and in love, decides to remain in Japan with her man. Leslie returns alone to America to deliver the reports. She is promoted to VP and spends the following year convincing herself that she has forgotten the handsome Seiyan.

At the year's end, Seiyan comes to America with a team from his firm to inspect the books of her firm before the merger of the two companies can be completed. The moment Leslie sees Seiyan she knows she still has feelings for him. But here in America he is different. A year alone gives him the resolve to cease the foolish games and claim the woman he loves. To her delight he is engaging and consistant in his attitude toward her. It does not take long for them to comsumate what they have been dreaming of for so long.

Suddenly when stopping at the store on day, Leslie is attacked and stabbed. Seiyan disables the assailant and saves her life. But when she comes out of surgery she has no memory of his trip to America. With his work visa about to expire Seiyan will soon be forced to return to Japan. But with Leslie having no memory of their recent commitments and plans he may be forced to return alone.
