Nobody Knows
Don’t tell anybody.
I have words waiting in line
behind my lips and I know
that silence has been spilled
for a reason but they don’t
need to know.
The day is so pale,
albino to my eyes.
Nothing stands out.
It’s a whisper vanishing
in the wrong ear,
a dead horizontal vertigo.
No primary or secondary colors
to be used as a background.
A found sunrise about to end
in an unwanted sunset
with no yellows.
A “maybe” lingering
among impeccable “nevers.”
A kiss waiting to be put
out of its misery.
A story about to be written.
