It can be emotionally draining to sacrifice one’s life to be a caregiver. Caregiving can have a psychological and physiological impact on a person’s life. Lois Knutson (2007) describes caregiving as a spiritual experience in which you follow Jesus’ threefold calling for your life: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your minds, and love your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27). Knutson further explains her view of caregiving as a spiritual experience and the threefold calling.
