[Killer Collector e-book is the second in the Killer Bloodline Collection.]
Welcome to Greystoke Heights! Where crazy means staying alive and normal means dead or worse—missing. Greystoke Heights—where killers have families, too and you’d better keep your basement locked!
Paige DeWitt paid little attention to the creepy abandoned hospital, Wolf Lodge.
Until her grandmother died and Paige moved into Emily DeWitt’s pretty house next to the cemetery at the end of 32 Greenapple Road.
What Paige and her best friend, Grace Nolan, discover in the basement that first night is only the beginning of the mystery. Soon, Paige finds herself on a quest to discover the secrets her grandmother left behind for her to find, including a mysterious ‘box of secrets.’
As Paige and Grace begin to unravel the mystery, it leads to two unexpected places—Greystoke Cemetery and Wolf Lodge. The more they unearth, the more they realize that it could get them killed—or worse—missing. Underneath the guise of a perfect little town, something odd is going on in Greystoke Heights.
When Paige finds a hidden note from her grandmother, it leaves her curious, as well as frightened. Emily DeWitt’s final parting words, as if from the grave, were chilling.
“Always keep the basement locked!”
Excerpt
There was only blood.
There were no bodies.
Owen Fowler and his family—wife, Marian, and two teenage sons, Ned and Walt—were missing. In the fenced backyard their small black Cockapoo, Shortcake, barked incessantly at the sliding glass doors, scratching frantically to get in. The little dog whined, but no one heard her cries for help.
Dawn was yet to be born. Daybreak hadn’t made itself known but very soon it would be making its appearance on the horizon.
No one had discovered yet that the Fowler family was gone, presumably murdered.
The pretty little house—the only house on Glenoak Circle—sat on an acre of forested land. There were no neighbors.
Greystoke Heights was beginning to wake up. Birds were chirping, wolves could be heard howling in the surrounding woodlands, and an owl hooted somewhere nearby.
All over town, residents were brushing their teeth, fixing breakfast, having coffee, reading the newspaper, getting ready for work, gardening in their yard, or a housewife was preparing for another routine day of housework and sending her children to school or out to play while others were looking forward to meeting a friend for lunch and shopping at the Greystoke Mall.
Last night’s rain promised a lovely, cool, overcast day ahead.
It was just another day in Greystoke Heights.
Except for the blood flowing out the front door of the Fowler house.
