"The Doll Makers." a couple goes on an outing in a forest. While exploring, they discover a group of evil elves. The elves make slaves of any mortals who wander into their secret territory.
"The Practical Joke."Stephen Hollings plays an elaborate practical joke on his friends, pretending to be dead. The joke backfires on him.
"The Blizzard." A pair of identical twins get lost in a blizzard. They seek shelter in a nearby house occupied by a wealthy and beautiful girl. One of them spends the night with her, and impresses her so much that when she is killed in an accident she leaves him a small fortune. But there are complications.
"Intruder." A couple move into a new house in a sparsely populated subdivision. Karen Parker must spend the nights alone because her husband is assigned the graveyard shift. Her beloved, faithful watchdog recently died, and they have not yet installed a security alarm. An intruder breaks in and she is trapped upstairs. She tries to scare him off by playing a tape of her dog barking.
"The Diamond Ring." A wealthy woman loses her expensive diamond ring while looking at trees on Big Bill's Christmas tree lot.She offers a huge reward to whoever finds the ring.Big Bill, a shady character, devises a plan to give a much smaller reward to the finder, and collect the large reward for himself.
"The Weed." This one is a sci-fi with an element of suspense. Hank Murphy spots a strange weed in his back yard garden. He decides to leave it there to see what happens. What does happen is a nightmare.
"No Place to Hide." Mary Spencer, receny divorcee, is on vacation on a small island off the Florida coast. While in the dining room of the only hotel on the island, she overhears two men plotting a murder. She is shocked to learn that she is the intended victim.
"Secrets of a Psycho." Alfred Jenkins, rural mail carrier and serial killer,believes that he is doing his victims a favor, and also believes that he can communicate with their spirits.

From "Engine Trouble."
She saw a sign announcing that Johnnie’s Garage was five hundred feet ahead, and at that moment the engine stalled. She held her breath as it bucked, coughed, started again briefly, and then died. She coasted the last hundred feet into the garage.
She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that the garage was open, and a tall, gaunt man emerged from the office door. The man looked familiar. Where had she seen him before? As he approached her car, she studied his features: thin lips, hollow cheeks, close set eyes, and close cropped light brown hair. Recognition hit her and she gasped. Oh my God! Bernie Mueller! She fought panic and reached to lock the door as she cranked up the window. His hand was reaching through the window as she cranked, and she could feel the resistance of his wrist as it was caught in the opening.
She grabbed the handle with both hands and cranked with all her strength. He screamed out in pain, his free hand beating on the window. “You damned bitch! I’ll kill you for that.”
Her heart pounding, she scrambled to the passenger side, jumped out and ran toward Clarkton. She had only covered a short distance when she heard glass shatter as Mueller freed himself.
She cried out for help as she heard the pounding of his footsteps behind her, and screamed as she felt his hand close around her wrist. He jerked her around, and she felt his fist crash into her mouth. She tasted blood, and her upper lip began to swell. He struck her again and again, and she never felt the blow that knocked her into blackness.
She regained consciousness to find her wrists and ankles bound with duct tape. Her face was swollen and aching, and covered with dried blood. She was lying behind the service counter, and beside her lay the inert form of a man in coveralls.
“I bashed his head with a monkey wrench. That’s what I should do to you, bitch. But you’re lucky, cause I decided you might come in handy as a hostage.”
