Cathy crept nearer and nearer, and then jumped back as she saw them. The land agent, Dupont - and Luc. The latter was muddy, as though he'd been digging, and the door to the mausoleum was half open. Dupont looked his usual self, except that he was gesticulating wildly in the direction of the house. Cathy strained to hear the urgent conversation, Then she caught a few snatches. 'You have to get away. He's back!'
'I can't now. I'm almost through!' That was Luc.
'You have to. Now. I'll take you to your car. Shut it up!'
Cathy watched in horror as the two men struggled to close the heavy door, while the peaceful angels looked on as if nothing was happening to violate the sacred place they guarded.
