Teenager Trudy Purdy, a self-described plain Jane, is ecstatic when football player Tray Farquar asks her to be his girl. Not only is Tray handsome, but his father is the most distinguished man in town. Trudy realizes she's made a terrible mistake when Tray lures her to a deserted beach where he and three buddies rape and beat her.
When she awakes uninjured in her home, she initially remembers nothing of the horrifying assault. But as days pass, her mind flashes back to the night on the beach, and she begins to feel a new power within herself. Trudy uses her newfound strength-gained by drinking the blood of others-to plot the "accidental" deaths of the boys who brutalized her.
As Trudy exacts revenge, she realizes she is changing in a big way and seeks answers to the unsettling questions about her new powers. She wonders what she is changing into and how it will affect the rest of her life.

Later, after Lane had torn himself away from Trudy, after he had held her, tasted the sweetness of her lips, and breathed in her scent for as long as he could, he returned home. Lane was floating on air when he entered the room and heard Jill mockingly singing: "Lane and Trudy, sitting in a tree, K I S S I N G." Before she could continue the children's song, Lane attacked her.
Lane flew across the room, and laughing threw her onto the couch. Before either, one could make another move, Victor, who was lounging in an overstuffed chair, asked, “Did you get any, Lane?”
Lane’s teeth grew long, and a fierce look entered his eyes as he rounded on Victor. “Take that back, Vic, or I’ll make you eat the words.”
Victor sneered, showing his own long teeth, and asked, “You and what army?”
Lane jumped towards Victor who had already gained his feet to meet Lane’s onslaught. Lane's body hit Victor, sending both boys six feet acroos the room and onto the floor. The two writhed and wrestled, rolling back and forth around the room, leaving scattered furniture in their wake.
Jill, teeth elongated from excitement, had sprung to her feet when the brawl began, and now she crouched next to the two boys adding fuel to the tumult. “Come on Vic,” she egged on when Victor showed signs of waning, or, “Let him have it Lane,” when Lane was gasping for air.
Victor looked at Lane, and the two seemed to pass silent communication. In one fell swoop, they both turned on Jill. Jill, seeing what was about to happen, tried to backup, but was too late. The three were rolling, screaming, kicking, and laughing when, suddenly, from the doorway, came Damien’s voice. “Stop!” When the three young vampires kept up their wrestling, he shouted, “STOP!”
Falling apart, Lane and Victor roared with laughter while Jill broke into gales of giggles. Damien stood looking at the disaster in the living room, raised an eyebrow, and demanded, “What the hell is going on?”
Jill, between giggles managed to say, “Lane and Trudy sitting in a tree,” before falling on the couch, holding her sides from laughing too hard.
Victor managed, “Lane was making it with Trudy.”
Damien stared in horror at Lane, “Is this true?” “
We kissed,” Lane said and attacked Victor again, rolling him over and twisting his arm behind his back. “Say give,” Lane demanded.
Laughing, Victor shouted, “Give,” and Lane let go. “Good god,” Damien said, and then, “get busy and clean up this mess. It’s time to eat.”
This got the three frolickers’ attention, and they quickly put the room to rights, then they turned into the night to find a victim for their weekly meal.
