I knew from the opening sentences the "general" direction of the tragic road young Anna would be forced to walk. To what depth she would have to go before coming out on the other side, however, is something that has to be read to be believed.
Throughout the entire horrible time in her life, Anna walks that road with an "imaginary" friend who is arguably as important to the plot as Anna herself. The wonderful antithesis of those who used her innocence, or forgot who she was in that dangerous cauldron she found herself in. The bright light in her life.
The voice of Tiffini Johnson is sure. Her plot is riveting. Her characters--though we must loathe the worst of them--have real life. Truly an amazing book. Out of five stars, I give this incredible little book six. A must read.

I applaud your courage and your heart for sharing with the world. You are a hero in many an eye for what you are doing. I spent many years as a child abuse investigator in law enforcement, and still wear a wounded heart knowing that there was so much more that could have been, and can be done now. Your comment about the survivors not being understood is so critical and true. At a legal level they just get tossed into a system that is as abusive as most of their perps. were to them. At a social level, community services try to apply knee jerk solutions, as well as band aid approaches to wounds that are so deep and need intensive love and listening to properly heal.

Now, as a retired cop, and a current pastor, I still fight the good fight for victims' rights. Once we place all of the psychobabble in the waste can where it belongs, and get real with feelings, we can address the true needs of a person who is hurting.
