Empty. Alone. Feeling like we don’t belong. Feeling like we don’t fit in anywhere, ever. Searching every face we see for familiarity, for answers, for love. Finding only confusion, depression and humiliation; we avert our eyes from faces, and start looking down at our own feet. Soon we close our eyes, and refuse to look at anyone, anymore, for evermore. Walled off inside the corners of our own heart, we sit down in emotional and spiritual darkness. Scared. Angry. Depressed. We are the fatherless child.
But wait. Who is that…? Who is that stranger who smiled at us as he walked by? Just for an instant our heart fluttered. Familiarity…familiar…family!

So many of us are blessed with Divine Gifts! You are not alone! Yet, most of the time we keep quiet about them, largely because we have been taught by our religious upbringing or social system that they are “bad.” So, we are taught from an early age to hide, ignore or destroy our gifts. We learn to fear even discussing such matters; and we are sometimes taught to even hate that part of ourselves which connects with the gift!
But, let’s take this into consideration: if God is perfect in all his works, doesn’t he know what he is doing by giving humans gifts to begin with? Doesn’t he do all things with a higher purpose in view? “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
