As he got off his horse and was catching his breath he said, "Robert. your uncle from Virginia had written to me. He has made arrangements for you to go to America to live with him!" My father and I had talked about this for a few years. When I turned eighteen a few months ago, we discussed me going to live with my uncle in Virginia. He was trying to buy a ship there. He had been writing to my father asking for me to come and live with him. "Your uncle has finally raised enough money for passage on the ship and it will be in our port at the end of the month."
