Allen Jacop Fox, known better as 'Keeper of the Waters' to many white men, as well as to many of the Indian tribes of New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. This is a story of his feelings, his beliefs, his family, and his friends. He was chosen to speak the words of peace to the white settlers, and to the many different Indian tribes on the breek of the French and Indian War.
Waking up, lying upon the rocky shore, with the waves pounding aganist my body, I knew that I had survived, somehow, the terrible shipwreck. I lay there, feeling the cold waves pushing my lower body farther up the jagged shorline. I tried to move my legs, but without success. I could feel the cold, the damn cold, and moving up my body into my chest, and I knew I would die soon.I thought to myself, this is not the way I thoght I would die. I could understand being shot by a roaming Indian, being killed by some foreign soldier, but not lying here, freezing in this cold Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by darkness.
