Imagination Explosion!
This is a trilogy that parents and older children can both enjoy. The author's imagination is impressive in the manner within which he describes the surprising world he created where magic and metal meld together. I have never before read a book that combines the sci-fi favorite of robotics with one of my favorites - magic.
It is essentially a refreshing play on the evil witch story but what makes this trilogy even more unique is the unexpected twists that the reader definitely would not be able to predict. What makes this a great read for older children is that it inspires that feeling of appeasement, from knowing that good can overcome evil despite the many adversities that the characters face in each of the books.

I would recommend this to readers that loved Harry Potter and felt disappointed when the series ended. This to me, is something you can pick up and find delight that will nurture your imagination in the most unexpected, yet fantastic way.

Don't Think, Just Read!

I loved this series!!! I had to read all of them!!!! Here is my review for all Three:

I must start out with that the development of the characters in these stories is fantastic! It is what hit me the most out of this trilogy of stories! This is a fantastic read for anyone who likes YA or Adult Sci-fi and I would recommend to any of my Sci-Fi friends!

The voices of all the characters can be found in these works. Let me break down the three books a bit:

In the first book, it is the religious overtones that I found most interesting buried into the writing. I don't know if they were intentional or not and that what makes them even better, but they are subtle enough they don't take away from the story! Book One really makes you want to dive right into book two!

Now book two is called The Shades of Fate. What can I say that won't give too much away? It is a great follow up and there are new characters and an evil witch! Who doesn't like an evil witch! I was sucked in just as quickly into book two as I was into book one and again I needed to continue with the series; it is one of the best sci-fi pieces of writing I have read in a very long time.

Book Three is called The Gravelands of Fate and picks up right where book two ends! It is a great climatic finish to this trilogy! As with the other two books, none of them have a dull moment! It is action from word one! It takes sci-fi and fantasy to a new level and is creative in the way the story is told from book one to book three!

A Fantastic piece of writing!

Now I said YA or Adult, but to tell the truth this would be good for any age! If you need something to satisfy your sci-fi craving, look no further; this is the book you want! The characters have a presence about them that I have been hard pressed to find in other books that would be suitable for readers of all ages. I am in love with these three books and will read them again and again! 5 exceptional sci-fi fairies!

A Timeless Masterpiece for all ages!
I became a fan of Mr. Beekman over a year ago when I first read Little Orphan Anvil and absolutely fell in love with this story of courage, bravery, and friendship. Captivated by the first installment I have anxiously awaited each installment so that I would be able to continue on the journey mapped out in the pages of this book.
The three pieces separately are amazing as stand alone pieces and I'd know after having my print copy hijacked by a 5 year old who refused to return it to me. Each installment is its own story and each piece takes the reader away to a far off land and to new and exciting friends. The characters are deep and well rounded and portray the simplest and kindest emotions humans posess, kindeness, love, honor, devotion, and friendship. All ages can appreciate this series and the story it tells, younger readers get to go on an adventure and learn what it really means to be a good person and the older readers can enjoy an adventure that doesn't require cripplingly complex plot lines to enjoy the story. I would highly recommend this series to anyone including my own children who will enjoy it immensely... 5 stars to LOA Trilogy!! Well Done
