A young man who family name just happened to be Bye, and his father loved horse racing so he named his son Race. Now if the name Race Bye wasn’t hard enough to live with his father sent him to school to be a lawyer, which he didn’t want to be. Finally when he could not take it anymore he decided to drop out and head west. Just to see the country, and find a job out there some place. He had no idea what kind of job he wanted, but had some money to go look.
    In Texas just below the Indian Territory, now called Oklahoma, he ran afoul of an outlaw gang thinking he might be the law. He came out of that with a Blue Roan race horse, and an unwanted female companion, an outlaw’s daughter. He traveled on west with her tagging along. Her old gang kept trying to get the horse and her back. They raced the horse from time to time, and it seemed like they always ended with trouble.
They stopped in Albuquerque, New Mexico to help a young man, Lance Revino* to get his horse back with a horse race.
    After leaving Albuquerque and heading into the mountains with Race going it alone Maggie came along to save Race from some Indians, and she picked up an Indian who appointed himself as her bodyguard. She told him to go way, but he tagged along anyway like she had done to Race.
    Then they rescued a young lady, and a young man up on the Rocky Mountains from another outlaw gang.
Moving on to Arizona and still more run-ins with Maggie’s old gang about the race horse and then some church leaders and the law they try to start a horse ranch.
