The day my world fell apart is as vivid as if it took place a day or so ago. This awful day is inscribed in my heart, mind, and soul; one of my eldest brothers came in running and gasping for air, he informed all of us, "They've killed papa!" I had just turned two years old that January and this took place in February of 1972. I still see myself running as fast as my toddler legs could carry me and jumping on the bed he and mama had shared; I can still see myself looking up at a portrait of mama that hung over their bed. The curtains in the room were drawn and the rays of sunlight were peeking through the heavy drapes...
