Author Jeffrey Gante has taken hundreds of Bible verses from his personal studies on the subject of God's will and broken it down into an easy read. First, he reveals what the Bible teaches are basic responsibilities of all who believe in God and Jesus Christ - his will for anyone who claims faith in His word. Then Gante goes on to break this complicated issue down into three aspects - God's permissive will, written will, and secret will.  Gante succeeds in throwing free will into the mix by showing how our personal choices, desires, interests, and gifts can apply in each of those three aspects of God's will. Jeffrey Gante also touches on the subject of both innate and spiritual gifts or talents that people are born with or given upon faith in Jesus Christ. Although trying to understand God's will and purposes is never completely easy - and we all struggle with it throughout life in various ways - this book at least tries to keep it simple.  It's good for those just learning to understand the biblical  concepts of purpose in life, but will also help believers in all stages of faith. Excerpt Remember again the story of Adam and Eve's first blunder. God actually had given them the "permission" to eat anything they wanted except the fruit of one tree (Genesis 2:16,17). Life could have been much simpler today if they would have kept their hands off. However, God still "permits" us to do anything in the world we want except what He has shown us in the Bible not to do (which means we do need to read the Bible to know what God doesn't permit us to do). So when we use our free will to do whatever we want to do, we are living in line with God's permissive will. No matter what, it's all about God. Do you like to watch TV, go to movies or bowling, play miniature golf, get involved in sports activities, go to the zoo or amusement parks? Do you enjoy swimming, boating, camping, and hiking? Maybe you just like to sit by the fire, read a book, go for walks or bike rides. Of course the list goes on. I personally have not found one Bible verse that says I am not permitted to do any of these things-and a lot more. Of course, there are differences of opinion among Christians of what God allows in some of these areas, but I think the basic idea is accurate. God's permissive will does, in part, reveal our free will to enjoy life to it's fullest and make many of our own choices and decisions without going against God's will. ...

We talk about free will as though it is permissible for us to do just anything we want and God will be okay with it. But, it doesn’t work that way. When we exercise our free will, we are outside His will for our lives.

As Gante states throughout his book, it is all about God. He gave each of us a purpose in this life. And, we should be listening attentively to hear what he has to say to us.

Gante talks about the permissive will and God’s written will. Adam and Eve were good examples of permissive will. God gave them permission for certain things (His will for their lives) in the Garden of Eden, but they used their free will to go against His direct commands.

God’s written will for our lives is plain, if we study the Word and listen to the Holy Spirit for His divine guidance.

“Simplified Exclamations” is only 63 pages long, but it is packed full of good information and scripture that can guide you to find your purpose in this life. It is a book easily read and easily understood.
