If you believe charging ahead through life on a high tech education is the only way to stay in the rat race, try coping with the added news from your doctor who says, "You only have a few years to live." You've survived a heart attack, a stroke and plenty of other near disasters, and now another one is coming sooner - the inevitable death call.

The life of one of America's insignificant icons is covered in assumption. Few accounts of merit have been written from his perspective. In fact, nothing is formally "known" about King Rat, but the author has pieced together a likely scenario of a picture of what constitutes a comparable life in a contemporary story - including never before theory of voyaging to a "cure," containing his most revolutionary concepts -  unimaginable practicable ideas about time and space. The belief from the idea that the mind can heal when focused in understanding the fabric of life is more than praiseworthy.

The author also exposes these common social principles of American flaws - education, social interloping - by comparing the models of likely ideologies of his two worlds - the born-into-world and the born-again-world.

The  whole book evokes voyeurism and is totally enlightening. It is effectively and smartly written and should be acknowledged as a true and colorful  picture of the life which it depicts. It could have been made shorter but but Bowers retained the flavor of a transcendalist and thought-provoking inspsiration to reveal the insight of change.
