When her father is murdered, Catherine Reynolds, or "Cat" as she is called, is thrown into a life of mystery, danger and intrigue.  She learns secrets about her father and her handsome neighbor, Jim Ryan, that draw her further into danger.  A ruthless Russian spy ring pursues her because they think she has a computer flash drive that they want.  Jim Ryan becomes her protector; and she finds herself falling in love with him, even though he is a very controlling person and she is already engaged to someone else.
