The perfect bedtime book for small ones that is illustrated with soft pastel illustrations of the ocean, sea bed, beach, and sailing the evening sky with wonderous with wonders to see with the merchildren.
In my earlier years of teaching, my eldest granddaughter rode to her school with me, and she always wanted me to tell her stories about mermaids. Later, I wrote a poem about childhood and mermaids (which I have included in the back of the book), and that was the beginning of the book. I wrote it for my granddaughter, who is now grown, but I wanted her to have something to share with her children. The color scheme is related to my childhood, and a book that I had as a child that has been kept and cherished over the years. My wish is that this book will be one that some other children will want to keep and cherish.

As a father of 7 and Grandfather of 26 I have found Merchild Land to be a book cherished by my kids and their kids. It is a nice to see a book that has the flavor of childerns books before these days of political correctness. The illustrations are immaginative and should be a great hit at bedtime.

A whimsical journey to a magical, undersea land awaits readers and small children who venture through the pages of Merchild Land.
Sylvia Ramsey has created a wonderful sleepy time book that conjures images of mermaids, seahorses and schools of fish in a make-believe land under the ocean waves. The poem found between the covers are excellent for children (especially young girls) ages 4-13. Ms. Ramsey wrote this book with her granddaughter in mind, whom she, “insisted I tell her about little mermaids and merchildren.”
My two step-daughters enjoyed the book immensely and said they were even able to use their imagination to visualize the various sea creatures that Ms. Ramsey wrote about in the poetry. I had the fortunate amazement that my youngest one even said she had dreams of mermaids and seahorses the following morning!

One of the most delightful children’s stories that I have had the experience to read! This Christmas I purchased four books to give to my grandchildren. They loved the merchildren and other creatures found in Merland – lots of questions were asked – a lot of learning took place and continues. A feature that I thought was great were the three or four blank pages at the back of the book that allow parents to write down childhood experiences that occur with their children as they grow. I’m sure my grandchildren will enjoy hearing about their young adventures after growing up. I remember my sons asking me about what they did when they were young. I highly recommend this lovely book.

We read this story at bedtime last night, and my kids loved it. This is one that we will surely read for a long time to come!
Rasputin, the most feared wolf in the forest, bent on revenge for old insults. But then one night his life is turned around and a new future presents itself... will the old wolf choose to accept it?
This book was written for children to stress the importance of being able to choose who gets to hug or touch them and being able to say NO if they don't want to be hugged or touched.
