Theresa Haak has highlighted factual information about the Monarch butterfly in orange sidebars. She used her teacher skills to write a book that embodies reading along with scientific information. She teaches in Dickinson, Texas, and wisely included a glossary. Doug Hiser illustrated the Monarch in brilliant color with a background of the various locations on their trip. Doug and Theresa went to high school together and teamed up to produce a beautiful picture book filled with information. The family of Monarch butterflies are not caterpillars anymore so they are ready to begin their annual migration from Canada to Mexico. They look forward to eating nectar from the flowers.
