I found myself still flustered at Chance’s embrace and almost kiss. He was different.
Could it be more, I thought to myself as I recalled the look in his eyes, the yearning, had I miss read it. Was this just one of those weird moments we both just got caught up in? Or a hormonal induced desire?
No, don’t be silly he’s just a sweet guy who is one of your best friends. Right? I asked myself.
It was a nice thought. It was understandable how I could be so flushed over it. Chance was gorgeous, what woman wouldn’t want those bulging arms wrapped around them I thought to myself as I drifted off to sleep.
For the next week Chance came over to jog with me every morning, but that was it. No more games on TV or late night dinner for the boys. I was okay with it, maybe I did read way too much into things.
Maybe someday I’ll find someone to love again, someone who wants to hold me dangerously close, and doesn’t care to hold anything back.
I allowed myself to drift off into thought as I lay in bed, thinking how nice it would be to find new love, have hope again, and to know I wouldn’t be alone anymore. It had been three years since Mike’s death and I was finally ready to move on.
Maybe last Friday night was all I needed to help snap me out of it and bring me back to the living again.

"Orion" is a romance set on the space shuttle Orion, where she and Chance Walker find something about each other and put love and romance to the ultimate test that their lives can set it to. "Orion" is quite the fun read that should prove very difficult to put down.
