Strange creatures like Sasquatch, and lizard men, such as those reportedly seen in the Louisiana swamps. This has been an enjoyable reading adventure into a fantasy world, where all are not who they appeared to be, where hummingbirds are the watchers of immortals turned human, reporting back to Willow Patch when it is time for the immortals to return from their human form.
