Is there hope beyond heartache, beyond grief and disappointment, beyond life's darkest hours? In the pages of Beyond Heartache, Margaret Johnson shares the true stories of people who have walked through such heartaches such as the loss of a loved ones, handicapped children, rebellious children, alcoholism, mental illnes, divorce, loneliness and survived as whole persons. Beyond Heartache is about hope---our final hope...God Himself. Beyond Heartaches is about a place...a place beyond all heartache. While there is no comfort in a bottle, in a pill, or in any other form of escape...there is comfort in a Person and a way.
A way through the valley of grief and a Person to show the way.

"Going Home"
It was a warm May day, a lazy Saturday afternoon, the kind of day that wraps itself around you with luxuriant arms after the house is shining clean and the children are out playing. I lay on the sofa absorbed in the quiet, dividing my attention between the book I was reading and the beauty of the flowering myrtle tree outside the window.
In the background, I could faintly hear my husband talking in low tones on the telephone. I closed my eyes relishing my delightful afternoon intermission.
He walked into the room, sat down beside me and took my hand. "Honey," he said, "that was your mother. She wanted me to tell you...your father has leukemia. Just like that my tranquility was shattered. Leukemia spelled only one thing to me...Death.
