Over my lifetime I have learned that we are truly our own best caretakers. It is in the Medical Profession's best interest for us to have illness and do not assume we are not used by them because this is the way the system is set up.
It wasn't until the death of my 32 year old brother, Terry who died tragically from our inherited blood disorder when the Medical Profession would NOT take our condition seriously. Thankfully my little brother did not die in vain; his deathhas served to help the rest of us get treatment.
Although I would not wish this disorder on anyone it has served to make me a stronger person through my many encounters with surgery and blood clots. I have learned I can do much more than I ever believed I was capable of doing.
