I want my magical lineage to continue because witches are not just misunderstood, but our power cannot be allowed to be dimmed, crushed, or forgotten. We are spirit people. We live and function in a world that combines the human elements, like emotion and instincts and intelligence, with multifaceted power and magic. We use spirits, the elements, and our will to make things happen. However, we are also made up of a consciousness that includes a vast wisdom and understanding of life and the universe and the power we ask for, borrow from and wield with the gods. We draw from the gods and goddesses of our conscious universe, our earth, and our will. We know the knowledge of the power of good and evil . . . we bite the apple with every breath. We also pay dearly for the knowledge we demand and chose to use or misuse. We ask and we get. When you take on the responsibility of knowing inexplicable things, you must pay the price of managing those things. Like a human personality, or the personality of a deity, we have our own special brand on the way we use that knowledge and that will. It is our own way of magic. (81)
