You know how sometimes having sex in a public place can be quite exciting, but it’s something different when its family that can hear you. So they try to keep it quiet but Nicky loses her cool because she can’t be herself. Emma is actually a bit jealous of what the two of them have, her boyfriend is never around much and she’s just sat up there by herself doing nothing most of the time. Anyways they get up off the bed and throw on a few bits of clothing and go out to the back staircase. Nicky lights up a smoke.
“Who does she think she is eh” she says loudly, loud enough for Emma to hear it echo up the stairs.
“Don’t worry about it, just ignore her ok?” he says to her to try and calm the situation down a bit.
“But like I can’t, I want to be me and yea I am noisy but it’s who I am and I don’t want to be worrying about being too loud or any----“
He kisses her. He runs his hand between her legs, next thing they know they are having sex there and then on the bottom of the stairs.
“Keep it in the fucking bedroom” they hear Emma shout, followed by some loud banging coming from the room at the top of the stairs. She threw on some clothes and stormed off out the front of the house. Richard was left lying there thinking that this is going to get ugly. He hears mumblings then banging and shouting. Nicky comes in not long after.
“I broke her door” she says laughing.
“Well Emma’s boyfriend John broke it already and she tried to fix it with some tape, and well I kind of put my foot through it now” she says.
Richard laughs; he thinks it’s pretty funny.
“I need a smoke” she says.
Funny that isn’t it, how when something stressful happens a smoke solves everything. Well it didn’t quite solve this. About twenty minutes later Ethan comes by the house.
“What’s this about you breaking Emma’s door Nicola?” Ethan asks.
“I didn’t break it, her fella did” Nicky replies.
“Well did you go up there kicking at it and shouting?” Ethan asks.
For a moment they stop talking and stare at each other.
“I can’t handle this I’m going for a smoke” and Nicky walks off from Ethan to the back door.
Ethan looks at Richard, looking to aim his anger somewhere, ‘Oh shit oh shit I’m in trouble here’ Richard thinks to himself.
“Look” Ethan says
“I don’t care if you two fuck like rabbits but can you two keep the noise down in the bedroom please?” Ethan says with an angry face.
“Yea sure” Richard replies, sure what else could he say, it was just to keep Ethan happy, He leaves, slamming the door behind him. Richard goes out to the back stairs where Nicky is puffing away on a cigarette.
“He’s after asking me to keep the sex quieter!” he says to Nicky.
“What? That’s insane; I’m going to kill Emma” she says.
“Ah leave it for tonight, maybe we should just head off to bed yea, it’s after two now anyways” he says to calm her down.
She stares at the floor for a minute and finishes her smoke. “Yea ok” she says. They go back to bed and try to get some sleep. Richard, lying there is thinking about that phone call Ethan must have received from Emma. “Dad can you come down here and tell them two to stop having such loud sex, and while you’re at it, ask her why she kicked my door down”. It’s so different to the family he had grown up with that’s for sure!
