Parenting children now-a-days is very difficult. You have lines you are no longer able to cross to teach the morals and values that we want to teach our kids. Society and our government have restricted our ability for us to raise our kids the way we see fit. My husband and I are a blended family; we each had four children when we met. He had three girls and a boy; I had three boys and a girl. Our first week was torture and we were exhausted long before the kids were. We struggled trying to find a way to discipline the kids that suited both of our styles. We tried many different ways for the first year we were together and didn’t find one that fit. We sat and talked and knew there were certain things we wanted to have and to uphold. We wanted the kids to have chores. We wanted to give the kids an allowance; we wanted to teach the kid’s responsibility and also the values that my husband and I believed in.
