In the name of the Creed and the Supreme Council of the Hidden Truths, I myself, Agustinus Petronio IX in the Sacred office of the High Master, must unwillingly seal the secret that today, hidden by a mantle of veiled ignorance, has marked my life and that of my brothers. While my hand glides on the pages of this writing, the mutable going of the world signs the end of the modern times. Man, in his villainous ingenuity, has built diabolic devices and unthinkable death means in the past eras.
Even machines that allow him flight, which due to divine right, was only permitted to winged creatures. Fire from cannons and mechanical means of transport infest the continent. Such conceitedness and challenge toward Creation is nothing but signs announcing the proliferating of abominations that already infest the earth. It will therefore be with the collaboration of Adam's son that the Evil One will devastate the world.
Therefore, given my old age, I set forth to bequeath such writing with the blessing that it can be helpful and useful to those minds that look for the Way. I cherish the hope that my memory, however vague and desperate, can list how much I have learned in this brief existence of mine, in hopes that the clues collected until now will accompany the humble servants.
Wishing that my life marked by suffering and deprivation, but also by great joy and satisfaction can be useful in the preservation of the good.
