Lessons of Love
I remember the first time we met. It was in the movie set and I was considered a budding young, sensual combination of that famous Italian sex symbol and that famous comedienne with the fiery red hair… about forty years after them. The studio, seeing an opportunity to get some much needed publicity for me, sent their gofer down to tell me to make a play for the lead singer; for him.
No problem.
I’d already been spending most of the day doing everything I could think of to get his attention. I was about ready to do handsprings or flips or something to get him to notice me when I overheard a conversation between him and one of the guys in their band. He felt like a failure and was ready to tell the studio to forget it. I knew precisely what I had to do.
We were never going to have a scene together but there was one scene where I was in the crowd of girls at a concert where his band was playing. I decided to rush the stage like the girls did back in the 1980s.
When it happened, it was a shock not only to the director and camera men, but it got his attention—short-lived though it was. I didn’t stop there. I worked him good; told him how magnificent he was as a man and what a superb actor he was. He almost purred like a tamed lion.
The director yelled “Cut!” But I kept talking. I asked him to stop by my house that night. We could work on his scene, if that’s what he wanted to do. I wasn’t prepared for his answer.
A tanned arm snaked around my waist and pulled my body to his. He was much taller than I’d first suspected. Maybe a little over six feet. I was forced to look up to him. His short blond hair made him look more like an east coast business professional than a rock musician making his movie debut. His eyebrows were a shade darker and maybe even leaned toward strawberry blond. I was never truly sure because those intense tanzanite eyes pierced my every thought and I could only lounge against him. The angular lines of his jaw were softened slightly by the sensuous curve of his full lips.
