The musical career of Eugene X Maybloom was always touched by greateness. The greatness belonged to the teenage "queen of confessional country rock and soul," Cassie "Rue" Morgan, who took him under her wing and into her bed. But their relationship was never easy. And his career was hardly meteoric. Set against the backdrop of New York City in the 1970s, this rock and roll satire spares no one, least of all the main character, who succumbs to a case of the star trip, before he lands face down in the snow in Elvira, New York.
