"Perspectives - the Journey Within" is a delightful, wise, thought-provoking photo essay based upon the principles of spiritual psycholgy. The author combines her photos from global travel with the wisdom of "sages" like Einstein, Rumi, Emerson, Aristotle et al.
PERSPECTIVES - THE JOURNEY WITHIN
Karin Weber's third book, a photo essay, combines her stunning photos from global travels with philosophical quotations from sages like Einstein, Rumi, Emerson, as well as those from a very diaparate population - inmates at California's Valley State Prison for Women.Remarkably, the two groups share mutual beliefs and philosophies about living life fully and well.
Weber's own basic philosophy has been informed by the work of Viktor Frankl and her own volunteering at the University of Santa Monica's prison service project where she continues to meet many thoughtful and wise women. She presents ideas like "Control is an Illusion" , "How Do I Perceive Myself - I Can Change My World From the Inside Out" and "Things Happen FOR Us, Not TO Us" and then juxtaposes each concept with quotations from the sages and the inmates. Each concept is illustrated with an appropriate photograph from Weber's vast collection and each photo well document s her extensive travels and curiosity about exotic locales and philosophies.
Perspectives is a perfect gift as well as a perfect resource for readers who are thoughtfully defining or redefining themselves and their beliefs.
