Ignorance of how mystic experiences are created in our minds is to be feared as a major source driving the hatred that separates all humanity as sisters and brothers; a force that permits atheists to hate non-atheists, and theists to hate atheists. These experiences have been with us throughout human history, and will not go away just by accepting the position of the atheist that religion is wrong or illogical, or of accepting the position of the theists that their specific brand of dogmatism is the correct interpretation. My central argument is that our religious nature is to be engaged, understood, explained and used for the betterment of everyone on this planet.
